Finishing Touch Builders Ltd., an experienced General Contractor in Red Deer, AB is now accepting resumes for a certified Journeyman / Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team. This position is based out of Red Deer, AB, and may involve traveling away from home for long periods of time. **Position Summary**:
The certified Journeyperson Carpenter/ Lead Carpenter is an integral member of our team.Reporting to the Owner/Manager the Journeyperson Carpenter / Project Lead is responsible for the duties necessary to fulfill the requirements of project specifications.

**Essential Duties**:

- Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the daily activities of construction trades-people
- Coordinating work activities with subcontractors
- Establishing methods to meet work schedules and coordinating work activities with other departments/subcontractors/supervisors/managers
- Resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Responsible for all on-site daily operations and coordinating staff and subcontractors on daily job tasks.
- Assist in preparing quotes for new contracts and proposals.
- Ensure crew and operations operated within budgets including product research, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
- Perform a variety of related carpentry and repair duties at various job sites as required.
- Follow through on verbal and written work orders as directed by Manager.
- Review forecasted timeframes, equipment, and supplies requirements to complete projects consistent with budget and project details.
- Execute timely completion of assigned work order tasks.
- Be proficient with relevant municipal and provincial building code regulations as it relates to building construction and repairs.
- Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process/protocol to ensure cost transparency of activities completed and accurate cost allocation
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations
- Embrace a Health & Safety environment focused on the prevention of accident/incident
- Action personal performance and appearance consistent with company policies and procedures
- Manage and maintains company assets consistent with business image and expectations
- Provide direction or support to apprentices where applicable.
- Maintain a clean worksite, shop, and storage areas.
- Complete all required paperwork including but not limited to timesheets, safety forms, etc.
- Keep abreast of industry-related legislation and updates.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Certified Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter in Alberta
- Valid driver's license and own transportation required for travel to and from sites.
- Must have experience generating basic quotes and estimating.
- First Aid & CPR is preferred
- Aerial Work Platform certification is preferred.
- Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective verbal communication and listening skills.
- Good attendance and time-management skills.
- Able to stand and work heights for long periods of time.
- Be able to lift to 50lbs without assistance.
- Be able to work away from home for long periods of time.
