Carpenter

Position Description: Clark Builders is hiring Carpenters in Red Deer to assist with various projects. This role will be responsible for, constructing, erecting and repairing buildings and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, concrete, steel and other materials. They will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, and structures.

Reporting to: Superintendent or Foreman

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Erect/install and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
- Place and spread materials such as concrete
- Builds footings, walls, column forms, slab forms, and stair forms and parapets
- Installs precast units, framing systems sheathing, exterior trims, interior/exterior doors and hardware, windows, flooring, wall coverings, washroom accessories and architectural materials
- Reads and interpret blueprints
- Planning sequences and methods of work
- Maintaining a clean construction site
- Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures
- Additional duties as required

Skills & Knowledge:

- Ability work in safety sensitive environment and in all weather conditions
- The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Enjoy working in a team environment

Qualifications:

- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year Apprenticeship training or Journeyman certificate (Carpenter Apprentice requires an Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training contract with Clark Builders)
- Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is preferred
- Experience working in commercial construction is an asset
