**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Supervisor, Electrodiagnostic Services, oversees the electrodiagnostic (EDS) and cardiology technologist testing procedure services, including supervision of designated EDS and cardiology technologist staff, planning and coordination of day to day activities, maintenance and operation of equipment, and assisting staff. Scheduling and oversight of Cardiology Technology Practicum students. Using a personal computer and related software, performs database functions as required. Acts as a liaison between doctors or nursing with EDS department at VGH, RJH and SPH in Island Health south Island

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technologist program at the diploma level. Certified as a Cardiology Technologist with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). A Bachelor's degree preferred and five years recent, related experience, including supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Ability to observe, assess and make recommendations for improvement when assessing staff for performance or assessing operational issues.

- Ability to analyze issues and solve problems.
- Effective decision making skills.
- Ability to operate related equipment and computerized systems.
- Strong computer skills: MS Word, Internet etc.
- Utilize sound judgement when dealing with others, using tact, diplomacy and empathy.
- Foster and promote good public relations as a representative of Island Health.
- Demonstrates initiative in taking on new tasks and suggesting improvements within the department.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
