**ABOUT THE POSITION OF MANAGER, STRATEGY SERVICES**

As a new position, the Manager, Strategy Services will be responsible for building the strategic framework and associated services to lead WCB's overall corporate strategy, planning activities, and transition to operational plans.

They will work closely with the executive team, but also build relationships across the organization, assisting in the creation of a strong alignment to WCB’s strategic priorities at all levels of the company. The Manager, Strategy Services will advise on a wide range of strategic issues and is proactive in identifying and mitigating risks to WCB’s success in meeting its strategic plans.

The Manager, Strategy Services will review how WCB can improve their practices and help implement goals to best optimize its business strategy. They will work to identify trends and gather data to support their findings and turn them into implementable action plans to improve WCB operations and programs.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Overall responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of an over-arching strategy methodology framework that will be used to support WCB's senior executives in implementing the organization's future vision and agenda.
- Leads the Executive Management team through the annual strategic planning process and updates the strategic framework.
- Owns and maintains the strategic framework, identifies and tracks all strategic initiatives, managed objectives and key results, and measures them against the KPI indicators and reports on progress.
- Establishes strategy metrics that will provide an early warning that the business objectives may not be met.
- Reports and escalates concerns as required.
- Proactively identifies any areas of risk that could impact the successful execution of corporate commitments and supports the business to resolve or mitigate issues and risks.

- Establish a system and process to identify the current and future strategic needs of the WCB as well as external trends that may impact revenues and expenditures, assets and liabilities.
- Create strategies to position the organization 7 to 10 years in the future by anticipating and acting on these trends
- Working closely with the executive team, develop organization-wide policies and procedures and ensure data, information and analysis are brought forward to inform the development of strategic plans and policies.
- Oversees budgetary concerns, and operations, and directs the prioritization of work within the Strategic Services department.
- Develop and monitor strategic and operational indicators related to the financial and operational goals and objectives of the finance and administration division.
- Responsible for working with all levels of leadership to enable a transition from strategic planning to execution by establishing clear accountabilities for strategy execution, and aligning divisional and departmental goals, processes, and resource allocation.
- Acts as a resource and coach to strategy and planning discussions across the organization.
- Assists management in defining, owning, and executing their strategic and operational priorities.
- Develops and maintains communications with all levels of management to build internal partnerships that assist the organization in meeting the strategic objectives and achieving the vision.

**ABOUT THE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS**
- Be a proven strategic change leader with a post-secondary degree in business, public administration, or related area, MBA preferred
