Description: The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

**Required Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. **Additional Required Qualifications**:
Undergraduate degree in nursing (BN, BScN or equivalent) - a combination of education and experience may be considered. Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP). 3 years recent Neonatal Intensive Care experience or experience in similar nursing units caring for medically fragile infants. Experience in attending deliveries and providing resuscitative care to neonates. Experience in the development and delivery of adult education. Familiarity with the principles of adult learning. Demonstrates supervisory or leadership competency. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Shows ability to mentor staff through stressful events and/or advanced infrequent skills. Ability to participate as an effective member of the interprofessional team. Exceptional organizational & problem-solving skills. Exercises sound judgement in decision making. Committed to safe effective, ethical patient care & work practices. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced, stressful environment. Competent with Connect Care, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience providing care in a level 3 NICU setting beneficial. Experience with Breastfeeding Education. Experience and comfort with public speaking.
