**Cooking Class Chef Instructor**

**We are seeking an experienced and passionate chef with instructional skills to join our team as a Culinary Instructor/Chef.** As a culinary instructor, you will play a pivotal role in teaching basic culinary techniques and essential skills to our participants in a professional kitchen setting. Your expertise and guidance will inspire individuals to create exciting and delicious meals in their own homes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach class participants (variety of skill levels) the basics of food and kitchen safety, food preparation, and making choices and substitutions when cooking, following the recipes and theme of the class.
- Be able to demonstrate and execute a dish following the recipe while explaining to participants the theory and in some cases the science behind the method.
- Assign participants kitchen tasks that allow guests to gain hands-on experience and improve their cooking skills.
- Supervise participants in the kitchen, encouraging proper technique, keeping to a timeline while maintaining a fun + entertaining atmosphere.

**Skills/Experience Required**:

- Professional culinary training or significant experience working in the food industry.
- We welcome qualified chefs from restaurants and hotels, instructors from culinary schools, personal chefs, and caterers.
- Interest and comfort in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups (class size ranges from 8-26 participants per chef on duty).
- Willingness to be trained on SRG criteria, to work as part of a team with other instructors, and to adhere to class policies and management decisions.
- Journeyman or Red Seal Certificate is an asset

**Time Commitment**:

- A regular class runs for 3 hours.
- The instructor is expected to be in for preparation 1-2 hours (depending on size of the class) before the class and to stay after the class to assist with kitchen tear-down and mingle with guests
- Flexible schedule with the ability to accept last-minute bookings is a plus
- Must have weekend availability for Saturday and Sunday

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: Up to $200.00 per day
