**Position Title: Community Engagement Coordinator**

**Program: SETTLEMENT PROGRAM**

**Location: Tri-Cities**

**Position Details**: Regular full-time (hybrid) position 35 hours per week. **Monday to Friday**. Starting June 16, 2025. **Second language is an asset.**

**Summary**:
Facilitate and deliver Community Connections to immigrant and refugee newcomers. Deliver Volunteer management activities, including recruitment, training and retention of volunteers.

**How You’ll Make a Difference**:

- Organize community connection activities (including field trips, and English language circles) to provide immigrant and refugee newcomers with opportunities to engage with the broader community and obtain greater familiarity with Canadian society and resources.
- Facilitate partnership with Revenue Canada to offer free tax clinics for low-income clients
- Assess client needs for individuals seeking support through mentoring activities. Make appropriate matches with ISSofBC volunteers and monitor ongoing match activities.
- Recruit, screen, interview, orient, and place volunteers with ISSofBC programs and external agencies. Collaborate with external agencies on providing supervision to volunteers referred by ISSofBC.
- Conduct on-going monitoring follow-ups on all volunteer placements.
- Liaise with ISSofBC programs and external agencies (i.e. civic, church, and other community groups and associations) to foster partnerships essential to recruiting clients and community volunteers.
- Deliver volunteer information sessions for new and potential volunteers following a pre-determined schedule.
- Organize and/or assist in the organization of volunteer recognition and networking events.
- Work closely with ISSofBC programs and external agency representative in updating volunteer requests.
- Enter new and revised information in the volunteer database ensuring that all volunteers are properly documented. Support volunteers to record service interventions in volunteer portal. Enter client information and service interventions into a central database as interventions occur.
- Facilitate positive working relationships with Volunteer Centres in Metro Vancouver for referral, information sharing, training opportunities, volunteer opportunities and placements.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**What you Bring**:
Diploma in Social Sciences, counselling or a related discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a client-oriented position, preferable in a settlement services related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. **Fluency in other languages is an asset.**

**ISSofBC Value Proposition**
- Expected Hiring Salary **$24.62 - $27.09** **per hour.** Dependent on education, training, experience, and internal equity. Wage grids are reviewed annually
