**Responsibilities**
- Perform all aspects of purchasing materials and equipment used by our service and commissioning teams, as well as inventory. Distribution and control of the purchased items also fall into this role.
- Create and distribute purchase orders.
- Purchase order vs invoice review for payment authorization
- Choosing appropriate freight and logistics options for purchased and/or sold materials.
- Identify and resolve issues related to product quality, warranties, delivery issues, shipping irregularities, and loss.
- Maintain an accurate cost sheet for inventoried and commonly used products
- Perform inventory cycle counts, and spot counts.
- Work with Accounting and Shipping & Receiving departments to achieve efficient movement of products and documentation.
- Identify the products to be purchased, the most appropriate supplier for products, confirm all aspects of pricing, confirm deliveries, and maintain an inventory control database.
- Compare and negotiate pricing with established suppliers, as well as consider new suppliers where appropriate.
- Work with our team to evaluate the quality of products used, the reliability of suppliers, and their ability to supply products in a timely manner.
- Adjust procurement strategies for the benefit of Delco when necessary.
- Record and track purchases from vendors from transit to delivery.
- Ensure vendors are consistently assessed for transit speeds and pricing to utilize the best possible vendor option.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by completing perpetual and quarterly inventory counts in addition to spot checks with inventory adjustments.
- Receive and organize inventory.

**Required**
- Training, work experience, diploma, or degree in one of the following fields: engineering (technician, technologist, or degree) in all disciplines, electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical/ plumbing.
- Experience in purchasing and inventory control would be considered an asset, but not required.
- Willingness to complete repetitive tasks and is self-motivated.
- Strong organizational skills. Proven ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgement
- Attention to detail, ability to identify the root cause of a problem, and solve it.
- Excellent oral and written communication. Proficiency in English is an absolute requirement.
