**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Winnipeg General Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Performing safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting.
- Maintaining awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Performing job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
- Monitoring adherence to the company safety program by all Congebec Inc employees and subcontractors.
- Participating in organizing and conducting training programs/seminars for Congebec supervisors and warehouse employees.
- Providing guidance to field personnel via safety briefings.
- Researching occupational safety information to assure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the workplace.

**TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE**
- College degree in health and safety or a related field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in occupational health and safety and prevention in manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Working with a food processing company or multitemperature warehouse would be considered an asset.
- Organize and facilitate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings (JHSC)
- Safety certification training (e.g., CRSP, NSCO, HAS designation, MSDA) is considered an asset.
- Previous experience developing/implementing health and safety programs is considered a strong asset.
- Or any other relevant combination of experience/studies.

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the OHSA and workers' compensation legislation.
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- First Aid training would be considered an asset.
