**Position description**:
As a member of Mount Allison’s Student Affairs Unit, the Manager, Global Learning and Partnerships reports to the Director of Student Experience and is responsible for Mount Allison’s international mobility programs and projects (inbound and outbound) and, in liaison with faculty as required, international learning initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, creation, maintenance and expansion of Mount Allison’s inbound/outbound study-abroad and exchange programs, facilitation of new international partnerships and projects, and the development any other activities or initiatives which serve to promote the further internationalization of the Mount Allison campus. The incumbent liaises, as necessary, with other University departments and committees to help with facilitating international travel awards, international internships and international research opportunities for students.
The Manager, Global Learning and Partnerships is furthermore responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the MASSIE program, Mount Allison Semester Studies in English.
**Responsibilities**
**MASSIE Program**
- Supervise student staff for the provision of pre-arrival and post-arrival information and support;
- Supervise the recruitment of student and community volunteers;
- Hire student assistants and summer residence staff, as necessary;
- Hiring of MASSIE teaching instructors, create teaching schedules and plans, and, in consultation with the Head Instructor, make decisions on course assignments
- Responsible for coordination and oversight of MASSIE trips and activities, including traveling on excursions with the group;
- Responsible for coordination of the MASSIE volunteer schedule and other end-of-term activities;
- Oversee the regular assessment, and reporting of student satisfaction and achievement of Program outcomes;
- Proactively develop new initiatives that will contribute to the MASSIE program’s long-term viability and success;
- Maintain regular communication with appropriate international counterparts at home institutions;
- Exercise good financial oversight in the management of the MASSIE program budget
**International Mobility**
- Manage Mount Allison’s study abroad and exchange MOUs and agreements. This includes maintaining exchange balances and liaising with partner universities and internal stakeholders accordingly. It also includes drafting, reviewing, revising, renewing and terminating MOU’s and agreements in accordance with University processes;
- Oversee student participation in Mount Allison’s outbound study abroad and exchange programs. This includes program promotion, student selection and nomination process, pre-departure orientation & risk management training, tracking travel waivers and pre-departure documentation, insurance arrangements, in-country support including serving as an emergency contact, and post-return follow-up;
- Develop and administer assessment tools to gauge student satisfaction, their intercultural learning and how the student abroad and exchange programs align with the University’s objectives;
- Report to relevant University bodies on study abroad and exchange programs;
- Seek out and develop new study abroad and exchange opportunities for Mount Allison that align with University priorities, and serve as first point of contact for faculty seeking partnerships;
- Pursue external sources of funding to facilitate greater and more equitable student, as well as faculty and staff participation in international mobility opportunities;
- Leverage collaborations with external partners, including Maple League institutions, Government of Canada, and other organizations to create new or expanded opportunities for international student learning, mobility and research.
**Risk Management**
- Oversee insurance coverage for mobility programs and liaise with internal contacts and insurance providers accordingly;
- Assist in the development and revisions of University risk management policies and procedures as they relate to international travel of students, staff and faculty;
- Stay current with Global Affairs Canada travel advisories and country-specific regulations and activity where students, staff and faculty travel, and relay this information to students, faculty, and staff as needed.
**Internationalization at Home**
- Seek out, develop, and promote opportunities for international and cross-cultural learning on campus. This includes liaising with staff, faculty and students to support events and initiatives related to International Education Week, International Development Week, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and intercultural competency skill development.
Perform other related duties, which serve to support, strengthen, and advance long-term viability and success of International Centre Programs.
**Qualifications/skills**:
