**CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER**

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer will play a critical role in leading all operational teams within the organization. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer will collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy and hiring levels. This role will be accountable to oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Company
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
- Involvement in the development of the strategic plan, budget plan, operating plan and project plans
- Develop, in collaboration with the CEO and CFO, an annual operating plan that supports the Company’s short-term and long-term strategy
- Measuring and analyzing current revenue streams, offerings and relationship to optimize business growth and revenue strategy
- Looks for methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures
- Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements throughout the organization, provide direction and work closely with various division heads for implementation
- Maintain a close liaison with each department for all operational requirements
- Motivates and leads a high-performance management team
- Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company
- Adhere to Company policies, procedures, practices, processes and systems and comply
with applicable legislation. Enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
- Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers
- Any other related duties as assigned
**Education/Experience**
- Post Secondary education in a related field
- 10 + years’ Experience in aviation/airline industry an asset
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience previous experience at the senior management or executive level with proven qualifications
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Experience in contract negotiations
- Proficient with MS Office
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance

- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with a thorough understanding of different cultures, traditions, practices and beliefs within First Nation Communities
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Ability to motivate, organize and respond to employees of many different areas of expertise
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Must be professional, discrete and understand the importance of confidentiality
**Conditions of Employment**
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Ability to lift to 20lbs; Repetitively
- Must reside in Thunder Bay, ON or willing to relocate

**Salary**: $150,000.00-$185,000.00 per year
