Reporting to the Master, the Chief Officer is the head of the Deck Department.In addition, the Chief Officer will be responsible for:Designated safety officer;The safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations;Providing guidance and support to the Deck Officers including Deck Cadets;Having comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and throughout the accommodation;Assuming Masters responsibilities and command of the vessel in the absence of the Master.Basic RequirementsAMSA Chief Officer COC/COR Unlimited (required)Education Requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 71 (mandatory)Technical Requirement: minimum 5 years sea time as a Watchkeeper Deck (mandatory)STCW regulation II/2MSIC Card (required)Australian Citizen or hold a valid Australian working visa without working restrictionsLiving in an Australian state (required)Be able to wear a respirator while on deckIf you are interested in any of these roles then we love to hear from you Please submit your CV via our website.
