Reporting to the Master, the Chief Engineer is the head of the Engine Department.In addition, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for:The safe/efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard;Supervising all Engineering Officers, while adhering to budgets and purchasing procedures of the Company;Safeguarding the Overs’ and Company’s interest at all times;Assisting the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship’s cargo equipment;Keeping the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship’s trim, stress and/or stability.About youEducational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 (required)AMSA Chief Engineer (Class 1) CoC/CoR UnlimitedMinimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer (required)Certificate of Safety Training (STCW III/2) (desirable)Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working RightsLiving in AustraliaBe comfortable wearing a respiratorIf you are interested in any of these roles then we love to hear from you Please submit your CV via our website.
