**Scope**:
This position is under the direct supervision of the Mental Health and Addictions Program Manager, and overall supervision of the Executive Director. The Intake Coordinator is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for individuals seeking services for mental health and addictions. This role ensures a welcoming, respectful, and culturally safe intake process that reflects Indigenous values, teachings, and traditions while also ensuring that the process is holistic and honours the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical well-being of each individual.

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking services.
- Review completed ICP’s, conduct intake interviews, intake assessments and present to team in a timely manner.
- Meet clients in-person or virtual as required/requested.
- Collaborate with program staff, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners to ensure appropriate referrals and connections.
- Provide information about available programs and services, both within the organization and through external community resources.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in compliance with organizational policies and privacy legislation.
- Support clients in navigating systems and advocate as needed to reduce barriers to services.
- Participate in staff training, cultural teachings, and organizational development initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, traditions, and the impacts of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and systemic barriers.
- Be familiar with relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
- Strong communication, interviewing, and active listening skills.
- Have or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, NVCI and other trainings as required.
- Be able to work independently and team oriented.
- Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector’s Check/Broad Record Check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Be a role model in the community.

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Base Salary: $52,000 - $58,000 per year
- Additional 4% vacation pay on top of base salary
- Full health and dental benefits at date of hire

Pay: $52,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
