**Job Summary**
As an Assistant Banquet Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of all banquet events, ensuring they run smoothly and exceed guest expectations. You will work closely with the Banquet Manager in the day-to-day operation of the banquet department. In the absence of the Manager, be responsible for the entire operation of the facility, ensuring constant implementation of policies and procedures in a safe clean environment.

**Duties**
- Train, supervise, and coach associates for the efficient operation of the banquets
- Interact with customers promoting hotel facilities and services
- Ensure food quality and service standards are met
- Enter and Maintain banquet event orders
- Lead and supervise daily operation of meeting/banquet set-ups and service
- To supervise and co-ordinate daily operation of meeting/banquet set-ups and service.
- Maintain required labor costs and staffing levels
- Maintaining the Bar control policies and completion of necessary forms.
- Train new staff and supervise the overall staff.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed - should be customer oriented.
- Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables, room set ups
- Attend meetings as required or in absence of Banquet Manager
- Ensure associates are trained in the safe work procedures associated with all of their tasks
- All other duties as assigned
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Skills & Experience**:

- 2-3 years of experience in Banquet Operations
- Must be able to build and maintain credibility and relationships with customers (internal and external)
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Previous POS understanding
- Proven ability in managing time is critical; must be able to plan and execute effectively and efficiently
- Management skills
- Previous experience in a similar role in a similar size/type of property
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a passion for dealing with and emotionally connecting with others
- Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations
- Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls
