**Position**: Financial Analyst

**Reports to**: Controller

**Job Type**: Permanent, Full-time

**Job Purpose**: To support the timely and accurate financial reporting of the company’s financial results to internal management and corporate head office on a weekly and monthly basis.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review and analyze financial statement trends and variances against budget, forecast, prior year; and provide adequate explanations.
- Review and analyze financial transactions pre and post period close.
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, analyzing account balances and investigating discrepancies.
- Review and approve invoices in the financial accounting system. Coordinate with the accounts payable team to resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and document with appropriate support.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in place and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Perform ad hoc tasks and analysis as requested by management.

**Requirements and Competencies**:

- 3-5 years of work experience in an intermediate to senior financial analysis role.
- University or College Accounting or Business degree and/or enrollment in the CPA program.
- Strong data collection, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with Oracle Financial ERP system is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to handle strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
