Our service offers rental listings for students to search for off-campus housing, advice/mediation related to issues living off-campus and help to international students in their search for living accommodations. **Responsibilities**: **Responsibilities**: - Reporting to the Off-Campus Housing Coordinator, the Off Campus Advisor will be a knowledgeable resource for the community surrounding Western concerning issues, events and activities related to off-campus living. They will cultivate opportunities for positive interaction amongst community members Specific Duties: - Facilitate education and community engagement for students living off-campus. - Participate in semesterly committees to support the overall off-campus mission - Support requests from the City of London in collaboration with the Off-Campus Housing Coordinator (ie. Awareness regarding bylaws, waste management, etc.) - Develop and distribute literature to members in the community as needed - Facilitate regular information booths in common locations across campus for students to easily access an Off-Campus Advisor - Support lease review sessions, and presentations in residence regarding housing searches - On-call one week out of every five - Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and planning meetings as designated - Attend training and professional development sessions as designated - Conduct events for residence students moving off-campus - Document activities throughout the academic term - Encourage and participate in programs that help students integrate into the community **Education**: Currently attending school and returning full-time to post-secondary studies in the fall **Experience**: - Previous customer service experience and/or administrative experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Communication - Written and Oral - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization - Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity Interpersonal - Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, peers and external stakeholders Team Work - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment - Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals - Results-oriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance Conflict Resolution & Mediation - Ability to understand customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service directly and indirectly to satisfy expectations Flexibility & Adaptability - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change Critical Thinking & Problem Solving - Ability to provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required Leadership - Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop shared vision to lead employees to excellence Confidentiality - Have the high regard to safeguard entrusted information **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
