Off-Campus Advisor Team Leader

About UsWestern's Off-Campus Housing Service is committed to providing exceptional customer service and as a resource-based department helping thousands of students every year. Our service offers rental listings for students to search for off-campus housing, advice/mediation related to issues living off-campus and help to international students in their search for living accommodations.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Off-Campus Housing Coordinator, the Off-Campus Advisor Team Leader will be a knowledgeable resource for the community surrounding Western concerning issues, events and activities related to off-campus living. They will cultivate opportunities for positive interaction amongst community members
Specific Duties:
- Facilitate education and community engagement for students living off-campus.
- Participate in semesterly committees to support the overall off-campus mission
- Support requests from the City of London in collaboration with the Off-Campus Housing Coordinator (ie. Awareness regarding bylaws, waste management, etc.)
- Develop and distribute literature to members in the community as needed
- Facilitate regular information booths in common locations across campus for students to easily access an Off-Campus Advisor
- Support lease review sessions, and presentations in residence regarding housing searches
- On-call one week out of every five
- Respond to emails requesting information and/or advice
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and planning meetings as designated
- Attend training and professional development sessions as designated
- Conduct events for residence students moving off-campus
- Document activities throughout the academic term
- Encourage and participate in programs that help students integrate into the community
- Engage with social media initiatives for Off-Campus Housing Supports
In addition to their Off-Campus Advisor duties, Off-Campus Advisor Team Leaders also have specific sub-committee duties depending on their applied area:
- Newsletter
- Develop the internal and external newsletters
- Create, implement, and meet newsletter objectives and assign off-campus housing related/educational articles
- Education
- Plan and create monthly educational sessions on off-campus housing topics
- Ensure bi-weekly Off-Campus Advisor meeting minutes are recorded and emailed to Off-Campus Housing Coordinators within 24 hours of the meeting
- Outreach
- Develop and implement promotional events for the Off-Campus Housing Service and Off-Campus Advisors
- Develop and implement off-campus housing educational programs for students in residence
- Participate in volunteer hour activities (i.e. 'Adopt-a-Street', clothing drives, etc.)
- Social Media
- ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Create off-campus housing educational videos
- Develop content for the Off-Campus Housing social media accounts
Education:
- Currently attending school and returning full-time to post-secondary studies in the fall
Experience:
- Previous customer service experience and/or administrative experience
