**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages
- Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring high-quality meal presentation
**Skills**
- Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on cooking and meal preparation
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of fine dining techniques
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Proficiency in food handling practices and food safety regulations
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred, especially in catering settings
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the kitchen environment
