Assist the Waste Diversion Team during Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)Transfer Station inspection to confirm packaged chemical and paint crates meet compliance requirements.
- Undergo HHW / Electronics Program training.
- Attend monthly Commercial Paint Roundup.
- Assist customer drop-offs, sorting paint and related materials.
- Filling out related paperwork.
- Assist with yearly annual HHW depot maintenance / cleaning.

**Qualifications**
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering / Technology, Chemistry.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits.
- Success on this position requires the following: Adaptability skills, Interpersonal skills, Excellent Communication skills, Digital literacy and Critical thinking ability.

**Pre-Employment Requirements**
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2025.
- If invited for interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).

**Pre-employment Drug Test**: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.Union: CUPE Local 38

Compensation: $28.88 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
- work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
