The Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) has been an animal welfare leader in the Edmonton community since 1907. EHS is a safe haven for thousands of homeless animals each year, providing veterinary treatment, behavioral rehabilitation, care, enrichment and rehoming. Beyond animal sheltering, we engage with the community through various programs and services to support happy, lifelong bonds between people and pets.
**The Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Fund Development, the Administrator, Donor & Stakeholder Relations focuses on building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders by delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries, and performing data entry tasks. As the first point of contact for many donors and members of the public, this position requires an outgoing, positive, and relationship-focused individual who embodies EHS’s mission, vision, and values.
**Key Roles & Responsibilities**:
Donor Relations
- Manage the fund development and general phone lines and inbox.
- Assist with processing donations and lottery ticket orders.
- Respond to and resolve donor and general inquiries promptly, redirecting as needed within EHS.
- Support donor stewardship and acknowledgments, including tribute giving.
Donor Data Entry
- Enter lottery orders and assist with donation data entry into Raiser’s Edge Database.
- Maintain and administer donor records, including tax receipts and constituent contact history.
- Update donor contact information and gift details as required.
- Perform data entry, reporting, and document scanning, filing Planned Giving documents.
Fund Development and General Administration
- Provide administrative support for Fund Development events, programs, and projects.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including tax receipts and ad hoc mailing projects.
- Order supplies for Fund Development and general office use.
- Track inventory for Fund Development and Communications & Education departments.
- Create purchase orders and maintain filing systems for Fund Development.
- Coordinate EHS room bookings, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.
**Education & Requirements**:
- Two 2 years of experience in general administration and customer service.
- Multi-line phone knowledge.
- Office coordination and filing experience.
- Data entry experience, preferably using Raiser’s Edge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience working in a non-profit is preferred

- ** Compensation**:EHS offers a competitive not-for-profit compensation package which includes a comprehensive benefits package, and a strong work-life balance.
- ** Hours**: 40 hours a week; however, is expected to work hours as required to fulfill department responsibilities.
