**Overview**

We’re looking for an Accounts Payable and Accounting Specialist to join our Vancouver HQ As the newest member of our Finance team, you’ll be reporting to our Controller and will be a key cross-functional partner to all departments across the business. This role is more than just crunching numbers - you’ll be the person in charge of ensuring our financial transactions are handled with precision and care, negotiating contracts for cost saving opportunities, owning the AP process and ensuring our vendors get paid correctly and on time.

**Salary Range**: $60,345-$68,000

**What You’ll Do**:
**Accounts Payable**
- Account Reconciliation:

- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval
- Prepare AP aging reports on a monthly basis
- Expense Analysis: Analyze vendor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiation and vendor management
- Accruals: Accurately post accrual entries to reflect expenses in the appropriate accounting period, ensuring financial statements reflect true costs
- Purchase Orders: Match purchase orders with item receipts and invoices; ensure proper authorization before processing payments
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors

**Accounting**
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a weekly basis
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Month-end:

- Support the month-end close process and ad hoc variance analysis and reconciliations
- Assist when needed in day-to-day full-cycle accounting

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
