**Work hours**: This position offers a flexible schedule of up to 25 hours per week with day, evening and weekend shifts as required. Hours and schedules vary depending on requirements.

**Location**:Based out of the Wilmot Recreation Complex.

**General Purpose**:
To assist in the operation of the Wilmot Recreation Complex to ensure program requirements are met and maintained in a safe environment for co-workers and the public.

**Responsibilities**:

- To maintain the ice surfaces and operate the ice resurfacing equipment.
- Responsible for the removal of the snow from ice surface.
- Monitors facility rentals/functions to ensure the building security is maintained and the rental contract is adhered to.
- Enforces facility rules and proper use of equipment.
- Cleans and maintains washrooms and change rooms.
- Responsible for the safe use of cleaning products and maintenance equipment.
- Records incident injury reports and/or vandalism.
- Ensures work is preformed efficiently and safely in accordance with the Township maintenance standards, policies and procedures and other legislative requirements (e.g. Ontario Health and Safety Act, Ontario Health Regulations, etc.).
- Ensures all tools/equipment are operated competently, safely and maintained in a good operating condition (including circle checks).
- Represents the Township in a professional, courteous and respectful manner in all dealing with the public.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12 education or acceptable equivalent in education and experience.
- 1-2 years experience working in a recreation facility.
- Pool Operators Certification is an asset.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Experience working at special events.
- Experience operating maintenance equipment (ice resurfacer, floor scrubber, etc.).
- Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs.
- Able to work in varying weather conditions (Cold, wet).
- Ability to exercise mature judgment in dealing appropriately with colleagues and members of the public.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or within a team to meet the operational needs.
- Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of safety precautions and hazards involved with the work assigned.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate tactfully, effectively, in a professional manner, in person and on the phone.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions from supervisor and colleagues.
- Valid “G2” or “G” Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- A clean Criminal Record Check is required upon hire.

**Working Conditions**:

- Physically demanding.
- Able to work and support seven-day operations, including weekends and holiday shifts.
- Must be flexible and willing to work a variety of different shifts and hours up to 24 hours per week.
- Hours and shift vary depending on programming needs.
- Position requires inside and outside work, weather and temperatures vary.
