**Location**:Based out of the Wilmot Recreation Complex.
**General Purpose**:
To ensure that the Township of Wilmot facility is maintained through a high level of housekeeping standards; ensure that program requirements are met; and assist to maintain a safe environment for co-workers and the public.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for all areas cleanliness of the facility; including but not exclusive to: arenas, spectator seating, pool deck, change rooms, washrooms, dressing rooms, community centre, corridors, youth centre, active living centre, dry land training room, track, concession and meeting rooms.
- Assist Facility Operators with ice resurfacing, removing nets.
- Perform opening and closing facility procedures.
- Perform custodial duties, general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility.
- Use safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment in all tasks performed.
- Keep the supervisor informed of issues affecting departmental operations.
- Provide information to the public and monitor functions to ensure building security is maintained and the rental contract is adhered to.
- Provide customer service to a wide variety of facility users, and help resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for the safe use of cleaning products and maintenance equipment.
- Responsible to record and report any operational concerns seen throughout the facility.
- Responsible to meet deadlines to ensure a high level of housekeeping is met and the facility is ready to be used by the public.
- Accurately maintains daily records for the purpose of tracking and reporting maintenance activities.
- Responsible for maintaining/stocking cleaning supply inventory and requests new supplies as needed.
- Responsible for snow removal on all walkways during the winter months as required.
- Make sure log books are maintained when snow removal/salting has occurred to verify entrances and sidewalks were maintained during snow/ice events.
- Plan, prioritize and organize tasks to meet daily operational needs of the facility.
- Represents the Township in a professional, courteous and respectful manner in dealing with the public.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned by supervisor or their designate.
**Qualifications**:
- Ability to exercise mature judgment in dealing appropriately with colleagues and members of the public.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or within a team to meet the operational needs.
- Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of safety precautions and hazards involved with the work assigned.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate tactfully, effectively, in a professional manner, in person and on the phone.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions from supervisor and colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of facility cleaning procedures and the aptitude for minor repairs.
- Familiar with the safe use of maintenance equipment and cleaning products.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- A clean Criminal Record Check is required upon hire.
**Working Conditions**:
- Physically demanding, walking and standing for long periods of time is required.
- Able to work and support a seven-day operation, including weekends and holiday shifts.
- Must be flexible and willing to work up to 24 hours/week.
- Hours and shift vary depending on programming needs and use of the facility.
