**Job Summary**:
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
The student will have an opportunity to:

- Conduct screening reviews of Regional policies and requirements as an input to responding to inquiries and pre-consultations.
- Attend meetings with other Regional departments and the local municipalities when required.
- Support data quality control and software update initiatives to the Region’s development tracking system.
- Assist in process improvement projects.
- Conduct research on current development plans and other topics for planners.
- Collect, analyze and compile information and data for special projects.
- Undertake other supportive duties as required.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Enrolled in an accredited University Planning Program or related University or College program.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS software.

**Preferred**
- Related previous work experience in a municipal planning environment, planning consultant or land developer.
- Knowledge of applicable planning legislation and the development process.
- Student membership or eligibility for membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), and Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), is considered an asset.

- Travel may be required within Halton Region.

- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and be able to provide a copy of their driver’s license by first day of employment.
