The Milling Department Lead Hand is required to organize and oversee the manufacturing of all milling projects, and responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and quality of output. Products and services must meet all necessary requirements, and quality standards before they reach Inspection.

The Milling Department Lead Hand must fully understand the requirements for their departments projects and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers.

The Milling Department Lead Hand must direct personnel to deliver maximum quality standards on time as well as maintaining a safe work environment for all production staff. The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that exceeds organization quality standards and customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

- Formulate objectives and understand/communicate requirements.
- Manage and organize workflow to meet customer and organizational requirements, quality standards, project specifications, and deadlines.
- Monitor production to resolve manufacturing or quality issues.
- Ensure output exceeds quality standards.
- Enforce health and safety precautions.
- Report to upper management.
- Oversee daily production operations.
- Manage all production staff to provide guidance and feedback.
- Review specifications for product processes, and requirements.
- CNC Machinist, including set-ups and programming.
- Develop CNC Programs both manually and by using software to ensure efficient, cost effective machining of parts.
- Set-up, adjust and troubleshoot CNC machines to ensure that parts are produced according to specific quality requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience as a Lead Hand/Forman in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 8 years experience in setting up and programming CNC Milling Machines.
- Excellent knowledge of CNC Programming and CNC machine controls.
- Independent, self starter with good multi-tasking abilities.
- A positive role model and team player with ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, disciplined approach to work.
- Excellent judgment and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English.
- Technical drawing experience - Solidworks would be an advantage.
- Ability to use CAM software (SolidCAM) is a bonus.
- Ability to work regular and overtime hours (when required).
- Completion of college or technical training.
