The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of **Specialist, Commercial Logistics - Wood Products**. This job is full-time permanent.
Do you want to help set up a contract management process and negotiate over hundred contracts per year? If you are a person who wants to put your negotiating skills to the fore, this position offers many challenges and rewarding opportunities.
**Your Challenges**:
You will be responsible for negotiating short, medium, and long-term strategic transportation agreements ensuring to most competitive and service-oriented outcome.
You will also be responsible for managing supplier relationships and dealing with any issues that may arise.
More specifically, you will focus on the following aspects:
**Commercial Logistics**
- Oversee and manage existing contractual agreements so that Resolute access the most favorable terms given current and future considerations in the global forest products market, Resolute current and future footprint and changing logistic market dynamics.
- Continually assess and analyze market information and conditions to find new opportunities to reduce cost or tactically modify existing suppliers base or add new logistics suppliers.
- Develop and maintain day-to-day relationships with key vendors in specific areas of responsibility, ensuring that Resolute, as a key customer, derives optimal value from these relationships.
- Collect and analyze key market information supporting the negotiation and implementation of specific logistics programs with rail, trucking, marine and warehousing companies.
- Interact with the sales team to better appreciate customer needs in terms of service and contracts under negotiations.
- Provide information to sales and planning departments on strategic and tactical decisions impacting customers and operations.
- Management of freight rates database claims and reconciliation of payment discrepancies.
- Prepare expenditure approvals/contract justification for each of our suppliers.
**Your Team**:
Reporting to the Commercial Logistics Supervisor, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to go above and beyond.
**Your profile**:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics operation management or production management
- Experience in negotiating with railways and marine companies, an asset
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience working for a large public company in the manufacturing or distribution sector
- Has several contact within the transportation industry
- Bilingual (French/English)
- Strong technical and contract negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound decisions based on experience and Judgement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with others
