**Purpose of position**:
The Operations Coordinator supports the Director of Operations through coordination of the annual service plan, legislative and annual reporting, and supporting the administrative backbone of InBC.

**Key interactions**:
Internally the Operations Coordinator will work with the Director of Operations, Office Administrator, Administrative Coordinator, Director of Finance, CFO and CEO.

**Key accountabilities**

Operations and Administration
- Working collaboratively across all departments, the Operations Coordinator will support the delivery, coordination, and monitoring of the overall operational plan for InBC’s strategic objectives and service plan, including all supporting initiatives and the overall timeline.
- Support the Director of Operations to achieve operational excellence as it pertains to the administrative backbone of InBC including, but not limited to, the following critical internal processes: IT support, records management, employee onboarding and other administrative functions.
- Liaise with shared service providers such as the BC Public Service Agency, to promote collaboration, communication and the smooth delivery of services related to central IT support, new employee onboarding support, and more.
- Support the documenting of policies and procedures.
- Manage projects and use project management software.
- Provide support for employee onboarding and ongoing human resources needs.

Corporate transparency reporting
- Support the delivery of InBCs framework for corporate transparent reporting ensuring high quality, relevant, and accurate narrative reporting on InBC’s service plan for both internal and external disclosure.
- Assist with the preparation of InBC’s legislative and public annual reporting.
- Work collaboratively across all teams to pull information, and compile it into a compelling, accurate and easily understood 'story'.
- Support the delivery of reporting requirements to develop the service plan and Mandate letter creation.
- Conduct research and collate information as required for various reports.
- Work with the Director of Operations and government central agencies in order to coordinate and support the legislative reporting requirements of InBC.

Governance
- Contribute to the development of strong governance practices by supporting the creation of key Board documents.
- Coordinate the administration of the Board of Directors including scheduling, distribution and tracking of required forms, attendance, and Board packages.

Special projects
- As required by the Director of Operations

This position could include other duties as assigned, based on start-up needs of the organization.

**% Travel**:
Limited travel across B.C. may be required.

**Qualifications**
- Excellent communication and writing skills and ability to distill complex information into a variety of report formats.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Experience with operational management, operational planning and/or project planning.
- Experience distilling complex information into compelling and clear communications and/or reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong ability to deliver projects with attention to detail.
- Experience using project management principles to develop and manage processes, research projects, reporting or to build policy objectives would be considered an asset.
- Experience working within or collaborating with the Provincial Government.
- PMP designation desirable, but not required.

**Other key attributes required for success**
- Strong knowledge of the B.C. economy, and its key industries.
- Knowledge of the venture capital and/or innovation ecosystem in BC.
- Knowledge of BC Government network.
- Knowledge of government, legislation, and approval processes relevant to venture capital funding initiatives considered an asset.
- Passion and motivation to create real value for B.C.
