Compensation Range

Job Summary
The Director, Rehabilitation Science Online Program (RSOP) will oversee and coordinate all aspects of curriculum and program delivery for the UBC Rehabilitation Science Online Programs (RSOP) at UBC. The UBC Rehabilitation Science Online Programs (RSOP) are a joint endeavor of two departments in the Faculty of Medicine: the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OSOT) and the Department of Physical Therapy. Our online programs attract international learners from many health professions who are outstanding clinicians, managers and leaders in rehabilitation practice. In general, they pursue graduate studies to update their knowledge and gain further expertise to impact care, shape practice, and advance their careers. Together they address the complex needs of individuals seeking rehabilitation.

Organizational Status
The RSOP Director, RSOP reports to the Administrative Director of the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The incumbent works closely with the Chair of the RHSC Program, both Department Heads, instructional teams, and staff.

Work Performed
- Program Delivery_
- Design the learning platform (e.g. Canvas) wireframe for course delivery so it provides a consistent learning and instructional environment that is effective and efficient, and minimizes student and instructor support needs and costs.
- Ensure and support local and distance instructors on the expectations and their roles as marketers, advisors, referrers and course developers and coaches in the program to optimize learning, instruction and supervision, and learner success and retention.
- Oversee all term course launches _(up to 18 per year) _to ensure that revised courses fit the wireframe and meet distance delivery and program requirements _(includes production and distance instructional design and review of course materials for each launch)._
- Oversee the continued development of the _RSOP’s Faculty Development Community of Practice (CoP) _website in consultation with the RHSC Program Chair, in order to provide ready access to instructional and supervisory resources, peer review resources, create an environment that facilitates communication among instructors, and an environment for continuing professional development activities and ensure that the RSOP Online Facilitators’ Guide is up-to-date.
- Educate and oversee the Program Assistant’s activities and processes that support students, team leaders, instructors and supervisors (e.g. updating online facilitators’ guide technology content, admissions and registration, HR, and payments).
- Work with the RHSC Program Chair to design, revise and coordinate the MRSc Major Project and RHSC courses.
- Operations_
- Work with the RHSC Chair to recruit the following: course author, course team leaders, instructors, supervisors for GCR and MRSc courses; prospective instructors for course shadowing, guest facilitation or co-instruction to increase the number of instructors; Chair and members to RSOP committees.
- Provide content for and approve final contracts for online course authors, team leaders, instructors and supervisors.
- Work with the RHSC Chair to create online continuing professional development and other opportunities that generate revenue to support RSOPs.
- Review course and instructor evaluations to inform course revisions and faculty/instructor/supervisor feedback and development.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective administration of the GCR and MRSc and ensure they are congruent with the Facu
