**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Director of STEAM Learning, and working closely with the Manager, Educator Programs, the Manager, Student Programs is focussed on ensuring Science World’s activities support the needs of BC students both at Science World and around the province through high quality field trips and online offerings. The position requires close cross-departmental collaboration and familiarity with the BC education systems and cycles and Science World’s resources and existing assets supporting schools.

The work of the Manager, Student Programs will support Science World in stewarding long term, strategic relationships with key school audiences.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- In alignment with Science World’s strategic directions and the goals of the BC school curriculum, manage the development, delivery, iteration and evaluation of online and in person programming for school audiences, working closely with Visitor Experience, Experiential Learning, Sales, Brand and Marketing, and Development team members
- Collaborate in the preparation and execution of an annual plan including critical annual projects, performance indicators and priority audiences. This work is completed in the spring of each year to allow time for appropriate internal and external consultation, data collection and planning for the upcoming school year
- Manage the staffing of a team of two full-time staff, which includes recruitment, compensation, and other HR requirements
- Manage the collection and reporting of program metrics and participant feedback
- Contribute to the development of the annual school support budget to meet organizational strategy and KPIs
- Contribute to report and proposal writing related to portfolio of responsibilities
- Track, execute and report on donor and grant deliverables related to portfolio of responsibilities
- Lead the curatorial work for the Tinkering Space, including:

- Maintaining content accuracy for current and new programs, exhibits and related graphics, promotional materials
- Developing, training staff for, and evaluating visitor experiences and school programs related to curatorial content as needed
- Evaluating the effectiveness (learning and logístical) of new and existing gallery exhibits and experiences
- Recruiting, training and supervising gallery volunteers
- Training and evaluating staff-led experiences and programs
- Assisting in content development for new exhibits and projects in connection with the Exhibits team
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications**:

- BC Teaching Certification or equivalent
- Experience developing, delivering and evaluating multidisciplinary (STEAM) programming for K-12 students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with innovative science teaching methods, including inquiry and problem-based learning, critical thinking and cross-curricular teaching
- Experience with coding, digital literacy and computational thinkingis an asset
- Demonstrated comfort speaking to small and large groups
- Able to work the occasional evenings and weekends along with occasional travel
- Excellent organizational, time-management and teamwork skills

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $67,000 per year.

After successfully completing probation, will be eligible to join the Voluntary RRSP/TFSA Plan and receive paid time off (sick, wellness days).
