The Supervisor of Student and Family Supports is a 1.0 permanent clinician position, and a term leadership position.

The Supervisor will function as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and report to the Divisional Principal of Student and
Clinical Support Services. The Supervisor will provide strategic leadership for school social work services in LRSD, embedding social
justice, decolonizing approaches, culturally responsive pedagogy, and Indigenous ways of knowing and being to create equitable,
identity-affirming, and anti-oppressive learning environments for all students.

This role includes leading and supervising the school social workers, child and youth care workers and working with divisional
family supports in a multi-disciplinary team, aligning services with LRSD’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP). The Supervisor will act
as a liaison for a group of schools, consulting with school teams when clinical needs for students arise, helping them prioritize
supports, navigate processes, and determine next steps so students receive the most appropriate interventions. They will also
collaborate with other clinical discipline supervisors to support a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to student and family
support.

Additionally, the Supervisor will support the concerning behaviour process, collaborating with school teams to develop proactive
strategies, facilitate early interventions, and coordinate wraparound supports for students with complex needs.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
Key responsibilities include:

- Centre culturally responsive and decolonizing approaches in programming development and evaluation.
- Build cross-sector relationships with schools, Indigenous organizations, Elders, external educational partners, and provincial
- government representatives to strengthen holistic, responsive supports.
- Lead student-centred programming that is strengths-based, family-inclusive, and community-driven.
- Lead student-specific planning by prioritizing students’ identities, lived experiences, cultural perspectives, and agency.
- Identify and remove barriers through developing and implementing culturally responsive procedures for students and
- families.
- Provide strategic leadership for divisional programming that enhances student well-being in school, home, and community
- contexts.
- Refine social work procedures to promote equitable access to mental health, crisis response, and social-emotional supports.
- Strengthen partnerships between Family Centres, schools, and clinical teams to expand early intervention, parenting
- supports, and holistic family well-being.
- Develop and implement professional learning that integrates anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and equity-based frameworks.
- Supervise and mentor School Social Workers and divisional staff, ensuring culturally responsive and trauma-informed
- practices.
- Provide supervision for School Social Workers and assigned Divisional staff, including assessing clinical skills for performance
- appraisals, evaluating provisionally certified clinicians for permanent certification, and mentoring new clinicians.
- Represent the Louis Riel School Division on committees focused on equity, student well-being, and systemic change.

**QUALIFICATIONS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Master’s degree in social work.
- Permanent Manitoba School Clinician Certificate (Social Work).
- Knowledge of provincial legislation relevant to clinical services and public education.
- Minimum five years of successful experience in public school environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and equity-based service delivery, including designing and
- implementing culturally responsive and decolonizing practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy, Indigenous education, and systemic equity frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing anti-oppressive, culturally responsive programming and professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with diverse communities and equity-deserving groups, ensuring
- student and family voices are centered in service delivery.
- Exemplary communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Exemplary presentation and group facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support critical incident responses and embed restorative practices within conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring and supporting interdisciplinary teams is an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
- Respect In School or Commit To Kids certification.
- Review and comply with divisional policies and guidelines.
