Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.As a Criminal Record Information Specialist in the Criminal Identification Unit, you will work with individual members and units within the Calgary Police Service (CPS), other law enforcement agencies and all levels of courts to ensure the accurate reporting of court adjudications of federal charges onto criminal records. Primary duties include:

- Access Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) to track federal charges through court proceedings and update information management systems.
- Submit final dispositions linked to appropriate fingerprint submissions through Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM) to the National Fingerprint Repository.
- Prepare and issue Warrant Applications for accused persons who failed to appear for fingerprinting, updating Sentry and notifying the member in charge of the investigation.
- Process and evaluate requests from individuals and/or law firms relating to destruction of identification files for non-conviction dispositions; authorize or deny requests based on legislated and internal policy.

**Qualifications**
- A certificate equivalent to 1 year of full-time study in Criminal Justice Studies or related fields, with at least 3 years of related experience including a minimum of 1 year experience in criminal disposition reporting, knowledge of the Criminal Code, Identification of Criminals Act and Criminal Records Act.
- Experience with Justice Online Information Network (JOIN), Sentry, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), ORCA (Offender Records and Correctional Administration) is required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Experience with Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM) is considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience working in a law enforcement or court environment.
- Success in this position efficiency and thoroughness, service orientation, high attention to detail, stress tolerance and team building and teamwork. An excellent communicator with a focus on results and the ability to build strong relationships.

**Working Conditions**:This position deals with emotionally troubling information/situations.**Pre-employment Requirements**
- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
