As a student, you will build lasting relationships with industry leaders, and contribute to work that will build and strengthen your skill sets. Primary duties include:
- Respond to citizen reports of abandoned bicycles, providing education on bike security and reporting processes while learning police radio protocols and scene¿attendance procedures.
- Attend the Calgary Police Service (CPS) district offices to collect recovered bicycles, coordinating directly with officers to support property-handling workflows.
- Complete found¿bike reports in Sentry and perform accurate data entry in exhibit management platforms.
- Use multiple databases to reunite bikes with owners, including Sentry and Bike Index, while building relationships with local bike shops to enhance recovery efforts.
- Prepare unclaimed bicycles for auction or charitable donation, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Studies, Police Foundations or Police Studies, Forensic Science or a related field diploma or degree program.
- A valid Class 5 Driver¿s Licence (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
- Basic proficiency in Sentry and Bike Index is an asset.
- The ability to learn new systems is also an asset.

Pre-Employment Requirements
- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2026.
- If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).
