Due to the specialized nature of this position, the successful applicant, if currently a continuing appointee with Chilliwack School District, may be "seconded" to this position thereby having the assurance to return to his/her former position. **Deadline for Applications**:**Monday, May 26,**2025 - 12:00 pm Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching. **Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience**: - Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment - Master's degree, recognized by the College of Teachers, in counselling psychology or a related discipline with a focus on behaviour disorders and counselling - Demonstrated ability to collect behavioural information and performing behavioural screening and/or assessments in order to complete Functional Behavioural Assessments - Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of CBIEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel - Demonstrated commitment to working with FESL data including EDI, MDI, YDI, Student Learning Survey, FSA, attendance, transitions etc. - Working knowledge of the Ministry of Education's _Mental Health in Schools Strategy_ and _Key Principles and Strategies for K-12 Mental Health Promotion _ - Experience and leadership in supporting students, families and staff using the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Medicine Wheel Philosophy at the elementary, middle and secondary levels - Ability to work with the Indigenous Education department on Indigenization of social emotional and mental health curriculum - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with district learning services departments (Indigenous Education, Curriculum and Student Services) to support students and school staff - Ability to implement holistic plans and strategies focused on balance, wellness and restorative methods which maintain the dignity of all students, families and community - Experience in the implementation of social emotional learning, mental health literacy and trauma-informed practices - Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with District Safe, Caring and Orderly Schools' policies, protocols and procedures - Demonstrated leadership experience in supporting teachers as they develop learning plans (CBIEPs, SLPs and PBSPs) that meet the needs of students with diverse abilities and disabilities - Demonstrated working understanding of district-wide information systems including My Education BC and eInsight - Excellent leadership and communication skills; a strong team player - Demonstrated ability to support school-based staff in working with students who have complex learning needs - Knowledge of research and best practice in instructional strategies, programs and resources to meet the needs of a broad range of students with disabilities and diverse needs. - Demonstrated understanding of a systems approach to instruction and intervention (e.g.; RTI, DI & UDL) - Demonstrated ability to design and support Tier 1 & 2 interventions and strategies for students with disabilities and diverse needs within the classroom (co-teaching, co-planning, clustering, push-in and pull-out) - Demonstrated knowledge of, and proven ability to, support schools in accessing community services for students and their families - demonstrated ability in the areas of intake, transition and MOE identification of students with disabilities and diverse needs (K-12) - Excellent skills in communication, consultation, coaching and collaboration with a range of multi-disciplinary personnel - Applicants must possess a valid BC Driver's License and have the use of a vehicle **For Further Information Contact**: Salvina Sharp District Principal - Student Services (604) 794-5553
