**Victoria Women’s Transition House (VWTH)** is looking for a part-time **Finance Coordinator **to join our Finance Team

We are a non-profit charity, providing emergency shelter, counselling and support services for women of all ages, with or without children, fleeing from intimate partner violence and abuse. We are a vibrant, collaborative community looking for exceptional people to help us grow as we work towards our mission of ending intimate partner violence.

**Details of the Position**:
The Coordinator will work closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager to provide finance and accounting services for Victoria Women's Transition House and will provide support to agency leadership and staff. Key responsibilities include:

- direct provision/coordination of full cycle accounting services including generating cheques and invoices, deposits and petty cash, account receivable and payables, posting journal entries, reconciliations, and other regular transactions as required
- Produces monthly financial statements, cash flow projection and statement of financial position and other reporting as required
- Supports the development of agency and program operational budgets
- Monitors expenditures with regard to annual budget, contracts and programs
- Supports annual audit, maintaining all necessary financial records and preparing timely audit supporting documents
- Provides back up for Payroll Coordinator duties including payroll processing and administration

**Qualifications**:
A minimum of 5 years financial accounting experience including full cycle, monthly close and year end, preferably in a non-profit environment. An accounting degree or coursework would be considered an asset as well as experience in payroll processing and administration.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and practice
- Skills in organizing and managing systems and records.
- Experience in working within and team and to deadline

This position requires satisfactory completion of a criminal records search.

**Wage and Benefits**:
VWTH offers a competitive wage, 4 weeks holidays and paid sick time. Full benefits package after 3 months and may be eligible to participate in Municipal Pension Plan after 2 years.
