**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Financial Controller**

**Department: Finance & Accounting**

**Reports to: Chief Financial Officer**

The financial controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of our Saskatchewan processing operation, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

**Duties**:
1. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
2. Oversee the operations of three plant controls, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving established goals and objectives
3. Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
4. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions at plants
5. Prepare weekly KPIs for all plants
6. Timely prepare and issue a monthly financial statements, forecasts and the Group reporting package
7. Assist with preparation of the corporate quarterly and annual report
8. FPA of the performance of Western Canada operations and assistance with analysis of performance results
9. Assist with preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
10. Perform analysis the budget/forecast vs actuals and report of results
11. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, production volumes and G&A costs.
12. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
13. Supervision of monthly and annual inventory counts
14. Perform Group and non-group reconciliation on a monthly basis
15. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience.

2. +5 years of progressive experience.

3. Enrollment or completion of an accounting designation program.

4. Minimum 3 years working experience in accounting required.

5. IFRS knowledge is an asset.

6. Excellent communication skills.

7. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

8. Ability to work within a dynamic fast-paced, work environment.

9. Previous experience in Microsoft Dynamics and Prosoft ERPs - an asset.

10. Experience in the agro industry is considered as a strong asset.
