As a **Machine/Loader**Operator at Sea to Sky Soils you will play a crucial role in the process of converting organic waste into valuable compost. Your responsibilities will include production tasks required for daily operations of our composting facility, such as; operation of Loaders / skid steer / Excavator, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality compost while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Operational Duties**:

- Competent skilled operation of Articulating Loaders, and Skid Steer
- Monitor and operate equipment such as shredders, conveyors, turners, and screens to facilitate the composting process.
- Ensure a smooth and continuous flow of materials through the composting process.
- Maintain appropriate temperature, moisture, and aeration levels within composting piles.
- Inspect incoming organic waste materials for contaminants and non-compostable items.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of organic waste materials using heavy machinery.

**2. Safety and Environmental Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow environmental regulations and guidelines to minimize environmental impact.
- Report any safety or environmental concerns promptly.

**3. Maintenance and Repairs**:

- Conduct routine maintenance on composting equipment and machinery.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
- Daily personal machine maintenance (incudes Greasing, fluid top ups, air filters, pre trip inspections)

**4. Team Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with other team members to ensure safe & efficient facility operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding operational issues.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical, heavy equipment, or vocational training is a plus).
- Previous experience in composting operations, waste management, or related fields would be asset.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., loaders, excavators, screeners, grinders).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols, any 1st aid certifications would be asset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfort working in outdoor and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
