**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, Finance Operations, the Accounting Technician will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial records, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, and providing critical feedback of operational performance against expectations. The incumbent will be responsible for executing on internal control policies and driving for continuous improvement and efficiency.
**What you will be doing**
**Financial Accounting**
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure timely recording of journal entries
- Analyze transactions to ensure the existence, completeness, and accuracy of results of operations
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process
- Execute Amica’s accounting policies
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and provide support for financial audits
- Support the effort to optimize monthly close procedures across residences to improve residence ability to better serve our residents.
**Internal Controls**
- Support internal control processes and procedures
- Support internal controls and financial process improvement by supporting internal process audits
**What you will bring**
**Must Have**
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business or Accounting
- 1+ years of progressive financial accounting experience or related experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with and analyze large datasets
- Knowledge of GAAP & IFRS
- Experience using Yardi - considered an asset
