Toronto, Canada Deuzeman CPA Full time

Deuzeman CPA is looking for an accounting technician who will primarily be responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting services to our small and medium-sized business clients across Toronto, Durham Region and Northumberland County. This is a remote, work-from-home role.

**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Ongoing correspondence with clients throughout the week as their trusted advisor
- Weekly/bi-weekly/monthly preparation of bookkeeping and accounting
- Weekly/bi-weekly/monthly preparation of payroll and GST/HST
- Annual preparation and CRA filings of tax slips (e.g., T4’s, T5’s, T5018’s, T4A’s)
- Preparation of year-end Notice to Reader working paper files and financial statements
- Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns
- Performance, review and analysis of certain financial information in accordance with established procedures, including but not limited to: bank and credit card account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, shareholder loan activity, balance sheet and income statement
- May require some physical travel to client premises

**Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting
- Experience with bookkeeping and accounting (at least two to three years)
- Experience with payroll and GST/HST
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word)
- Experience in public accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Experience in CaseWare Working Papers and CaseView
- Experience in corporate year-end file preparation
- Experience in CCH Taxprep software an asset
- Experience in personal tax return preparation an asset
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Ability to work over-time during peak periods of the year
- Ability to think and act like a business owner
- Desire to obsess over the client and deliver results
- Possess high standards for client work and operational excellence
- Ability to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands, deadlines and multiple tasks as required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
