For over 30 years, Mainway Industrial Installations Inc. is a multi-trade contractor specializing in various construction trades and module fabrication.
We have well qualified staff with many years of experience working together to co-ordinate and schedule project workflow. The end result is a cost-efficient turn-key project delivered on time for our clients across numerous industries including oil and gas, chemical (corrosive and non), steel, cement, mining and minerals, fertilizer and agriculture, to name a few.
Conveniently located in Stoney Creek, we are currently looking for an **Accounting Clerk** to join our team of dedicated employees.
The Accounting Clerk will support our administrative team with accounts payables, accounts receivables, bookkeeping, and invoicing.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- _Accounts Receivables: _
- Preparation and distribution of all invoices.
- Receive and process all incoming receivables into our Business Vision/Sage 50 system.
- Preparation of monthly statement of accounts
- Communicate with customers, as needed, to provide invoice copies, statement of accounts or follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner.
- _Accounts Payables_:
- Process vendor invoices (utilities, compensating contractors, staff expenses, etc.)
- _Bookkeeping: _
- Calculate and remit HST/GST and all other reporting requirements and related filings.
- Filing and reconciliation of T4’s, HST returns, WSIB, EHT etc.
- Appropriate handling of union dues
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Perform additional related duties as required, including some back-up duties on Reception and other administrative tasks from time to time.
**Experience and Skill Requirements**
- Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience required, preferably in a unionized construction company (or similar work environment).
- Minimum 5 years of experience small business bookkeeping in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.
- College diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping or equivalent in education and/or experience required.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Business Vision/Sage 50 accounting system, and general computer skills required.
- Experience and willingness to provide backup support for Reception and other similar duties.
- Quick learner; self-starter; strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with co-workers and customers.
