Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Safety - Cabin Operations, this manager works as part of an integrated team of operational safety experts, and is accountable to the Person Managing the Safety Management System (VP Safety) for the development and delivery of corporate business processes that provide oversight and assurance of required cabin safety initiatives. The Corporate Safety Manager - Cabin Operations is responsible for the day-to-day processing of Cabin Safety reports and data within the Corporate Safety - Safety & Investigations Department. The incumbent will ensure the proper handling and processing of cabin safety reports, Safety Information Management System Reports, Flight Incident Notifications and the completion of other documentation, as appropriate, concerning the Air Canada Safety Program. The incumbent will be responsible to process cabin safety reports for the Department and will support the weekly SER and other safety meetings, as directed by the Manager Corporate Safety - Cabin Operations, to ensure safety concerns are tabled and addressed in accordance with SMS protocols. The incumbent will coordinate all required analytical services and produce dashboard and statistical reports in support of the quarterly Inflight Branch, Inter-Branch and Corporate Safety Boards as well as individual requests for data and statistics.

**Key Functions**:
Activities and key accountabilities including:
Responsibility (utilization of company assets)
- Develops appropriate protocols and practices to receive, validate, process, investigate, review and finalize cabin safety reports, observations and hazard submissions.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate links and support structures within In-flight Branch in order to properly prosecute safety.
- Conducts activities to identify, analyze and investigate safety hazards and latent risks.
- Manages processes to formally monitor and track corrective actions and subsequent performance resulting from safety issues and investigations.
- Conducts debriefs of the flight crews, flight attendants, ground personnel and any other required groups as dictated by the assessment/ investigation processes.
- Supports the Manager, Corporate Safety - Cabin Operations by providing regular reports and insight regarding Inflight safety issues and trends.
- Support the CSEQ Senior Manager Risk through the provision of data, guidance and advice concerning emerging and established hazards/risks, the current mitigation plans and any issues that might exist.
- Manage, documents, correlates and analyzes safety data and information.
- Maintain a close professional and working relationship with the front-line cabin crew. Conduct base visits to address safety concerns, offer SIMS support and to be a presence for CSEQ and IFS staff.
- Provide detailed reports that compare/contrast Air Canada Safety reports with those of Industry (Benchmarking). Identify adverse trends and best practices where able.
- Ensure the continuous review of Cabin Safety data and ongoing issues in order to identify, analyze and understand cabin safety hazards and latent risks.
- Provide expertise in the use of dashboards, analytics tools and managing complex studies to support requests for safety data from a range of clients including Branch Managers, Business Intelligence and Executive Management.

**Qualifications**

**Job Requirements**:
**Education**:
Minimum High School Leaving Certificate, College or University degree is preferred.
- Formal training and experience as a Cabin Attendant (Flight Attendant) at Air Canada, Air Canada Express partner or any Canadian Part 705 carrier, is desired.
- Formal approved Accident Investigation Training Course for Cabin Operations, Human Factors Training and training in Quality Management, including IOSA Auditor training, are desired elements.
- Formal Management Training is an asset.
- License(s) attestation(s), certification(s), association(s) required.
- Accreditation in Quality Auditing and Quality Management (ASQ, CQMgr, CQA, CQE, CQT) or equivalent (e.g., TC auditor, Air Canada Auditor, IOSA Auditor or Evaluator) is desired.
- Ability to propose or recommend multiple types of solutions to complex issues to aid in the production of a comprehensive written final safety report that provides written guidance to senior management is desired.
- Have or have held management positions within a Part 704/705 Canadian Air Operator or equivalent; Management experience should include experience in safety and/or training
- Have or have held a previous IFS Safety position within a Part 705, or equivalent, Canadian Air Operation.
- Aviation experience shall include in depth knowledge of daily airline/IFS operating procedures and
