We are currently seeking a **Legal Assistant** to join our busy** Labour and Employment **team in our **Toronto office**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Drafting, preparing and proof-reading of correspondence, accounts, various litigation documents (e.g. pleadings, briefs), and court forms;
- Monitor and track client matter workflow progress and maintain client status list, including liaising with Associates / Partners to obtain working file status, maintaining bring forward/tickler system of tasks, and identifying areas of action;
- Provide administrative support with respect to accounting and billing matters including, where applicable, processing of invoices, expense and cheque requisitions, trust receipts, etc;
- Organize own work, set priorities, work independently on a day-to-day basis, meet critical deadlines and balance multiple objectives;
- Develop effective team and working relationships with Firm members at all levels;
**What you'll bring**:
- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Administration certificate preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, in Labour & Employment or Litigation
- Experience with preparing legal documents (tribunal briefs, affadavits) and filing and serving materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required;
- Strong client service skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent proofreading skills (ability to check typed material for grammatical,
typographical, spelling, word usage and format errors);
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions with mínimal supervision, take initiative and self-motivated;
- Willingness to learn and contribute to the team;
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills;
