**Who we are**
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ over 2500 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.
**Are you our new Event & Virtual Experience Coordinator?**
We have an exciting career opportunity for a highly motivated Event & Virtual Experience Coordinator. In this role, you will join our rapidly-evolving Learning & Development Team and have the opportunity to contribute and learn in a high quality, fast-paced and client focused team.

You will learn something new every day and be a major influence in how our virtual and in-person meetings and events are designed and delivered.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders, tap into your knowledge, passion and experience and contribute meaningfully to our purpose of helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive.
**As an Event & Virtual Experience Coordinator your responsibilities will include**:
- Work collaboratively to coordinate logistics and assist in the organization, preparation and execution of various events, trainings & conferences (both virtual and in-person).
- Coordinate the invitation of and registration of attendees, as well as on-going communication regarding event details.
- Attend planning meetings and dry runs to make recommendations and provide guidance on the options available within the virtual event platform(s), to identify and resolve issues in advance and ensure effective event delivery.

- Provide support, guidance and training when necessary to colleagues and stakeholders on appropriate virtual platforms, best practices and recommendations for formats best suited for the content to be delivered.
- Assist with venue sourcing and booking as well as coordinating meeting space, audio-visual and other requirements for in-person events.
- In the event of offsite venues or external guest speakers/services, negotiate contracts and pricing as well as final reconciliation including the processing of pre-approved invoices and budget reporting.
- Walk in other’s shoes and visualize the experience from the attendee’s perspective in order to make creative and innovative suggestions which will help improve, elevate and add value to events, as well as help foresee possible issues before they arise.
- Incorporate Grant Thornton’s vision and purpose into everything you do.
- Maintain your external network to understand the competitive landscape, and keep abreast of industry developments, including new virtual event technology solutions, updates and trends.
- Other various projects related to learning and development, as required.
