Novel Health is a new and innovative family practice clinic located in the community of Riverside South, Ottawa. We serve a diverse population in the Ottawa south region and leverage technology and electronic records to provide timely and comprehensive care. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Full-Time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing team.

**Job Summary**

The MOA will work alongside a team of Medical Office Assistants, Nurses (RPN, NP), family physicians and specialists to provide administrative and clinical support in a primary care environment. Availability to work evenings (until 8pm) and limited availability on weekends is a must.

**Qualification and Skills**
- Minimum of two years' experience working in the medical office settings is preferred
- Computer and EMR literacy - proficiency in utilizing different software’s such as: Telus PS Suite, Pomelo Online portal, Ocean Cognisant MD Software
- Knowledge of medical billing (MOH, third party, out of province)
- Knowledge of medical office standards and workflows
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task
- Self directed and independent, able to work with mínimal oversight
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Empathic and passionate about supporting and providing care to patients
- Education in medical administration is an asset
- Knowledge in social media, health newsletters and communication are an asset

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Receiving incoming calls, answering routine inquiries and triaging ailments for urgency
- Responding to patient inquiries via phone call or online portal system
- Receiving & organizing medical documents to appropriate charts
- Managing clinic intake and regularly interacting with patients
- Managing appointment bookings and scheduling changes
- Rooming patients and taking vitals
- Disinfecting exam rooms and clinic common areas
- Invoicing and billing reconciliation
- Assisting in development of office workflow and work standards
- Participating in regularly scheduled team meetings and team building activities
- Collaborating with colleagues and physicians to ensure continuity of care for patients

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
