**Front of House Coordinator**

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, established in 1856, is the second largest diocese in English speaking Canada and serves the needs of more than 626,000 Roman Catholics, throughout Southwestern Ontario. St. Mary’s Parish in Kitchener is looking for a part-time (18 hours/week) **Front of House Coordinator. **Reporting to the Pastor, The Front of House Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and management of the volunteers assigned to the outdoors, liaising with the kitchen, and providing a safe environment for all our patrons and volunteers during service hours.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Interact with guests, including but not limited to greeting them, taking their meal order, and advising them on the daily bites and calzones
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with volunteers and patrons
- Skillfulness in conflict resolution and de-escalation in a variety of situations including individuals struggling with mental health illnesses, addictions and/or psychosis
- Ability to convey the ideals and mission of the project to new volunteers and guests
- Possess good judgment and ability to manage crisis including but not limited to rowdy individuals, arguments, fights and overdoses
- Demonstrate high-productivity in a fast paced environment
- Responsible for handling complaints and working with money
- Provide consistency with the front of house setup and take down
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Conveys empathy and compassion to individuals coming from various cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic status
- Capable of creating and maintaining strong personal and professional boundaries
- Aid in facilitating volunteer onboarding, training and culture development within the Tiny Home Takeout program
- Work closely with the Kitchen Coordinator and liaise with the kitchen on a regular basis
- Comfortable working outside in all types of weather and comes prepared to do so
- Treats every guest with dignity

**Requirements**:

- Prior customer service experience
- Valid First Aid with CPR C Certification will be required upon hire
