**Background**: Indigenous Peoples have inequitable access to the Canadian healthcare system. The causes of the health inequities faced by Indigenous People in Canada are structural; rooted in law, policy, and institutional design - and these structures of inequity have persisted, creating ongoing barriers in accessing healthcare services and violating trust of Indigenous people. The Indigenous population in Toronto is the largest Indigenous population in Canada, estimated to be >88,000. Approximately 1/3 Indigenous adults living in Toronto are functionally homeless and Indigenous peoples are also disproportionately represented among the larger homeless population of Toronto. **Job Details**: **Department**:Operations **Role Description**: Reporting to the Director of Indigenous Health and coordinating with the Senior Manager, Program Development and System Design, this role will support all aspects of ICHA’s Indigenous Health Program. The Program is founded on partnerships with Indigenous-led service organizations and provides community-based, Indigenous-led, culture based, comprehensive, low barrier primary and pediatric care with consulting psychiatric services. Current clinics supported by the Program include the Call Auntie Clinic, Ode’imin, Nameres/Sagatay, ENAGBE, and Auduzhe Mino Nesewinong, as well as the Indigenous Health Teams Outreach program. Our interdisciplinary team includes family physicians, pediatricians, child and adolescent psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, midwives, Indigenous exemption midwives, and community health workers (including harm reduction workers). **Roles and Responsibilities**: - Respond to requests and coordinates the activities of ICHA’s Indigenous on-site primary care and clinical specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatric) programs, including setting up and attending meetings, negotiating, and drafting partner MOUs, file management, updating file share system, and keeping a record of discussions along with tracking action items for the program. - Support with training, and onboarding new Health Liaisons for the Indigenous Health Program clinic sites, and other clinical support as assigned. - Support site Health Liaisons in relationship management with community members and partner sites to ensure well-functioning clinic operations. - Working with the Clinical Services Coordinator, Supplies and Logistics, liaise with clinicians, shelter partners, community organizations, and local health authorities to set-up on-site clinic spaces and initiatives for the Indigenous Health Program. - Maintain and support development of manuals, guidance documents, relevant policies, procedures, and training material. - Format and finalize reports, policies, evaluations, budgets, and other documentation related to the development of programs. - Facilitate review and improvement of clinical and administrative workflows associated with the programs and services including those linked to community partners. - Working with ICHA’s Business Intelligence Analyst and Privacy Officer, along with community partners, to drive programmatic data collection that is consistent with OCAP principles and grounded in Indigenous data sovereignty to support evaluation and program improvement. - Help establish and maintain relationships with external partners, bringing an awareness of large events hosted within the Indigenous community in which the ICHA Indigenous Health Program can play a role or have a presence. - Support the onboarding and scheduling of ICHA’s staff and contractors related to Indigenous Health programs. - Help ensure that health services are being delivered in a culturally safe, low barrier manner - including paying attention to cultural ethics/protocols, program objectives, and agency standards of practice and western ethics. **Qualifications**: - Postsecondary education at a bachelor’s level or equivalent experience. - Excellent computer skills and an ability to learn new systems. - Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Indigenous Community setting (public health or primary care experience preferred). - Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. Experience with SharePoint file sharing an asset. - Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience working with clinicians in community - based health/primary care settings. - Open minded, non-judgmental with a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all people and respecting their diversity. Experience with marginalized populations with complex health and social service needs is highly desired. - Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to support multiple activities and processes concurrently, continuously identifying and addressing competing priorities in a timely and effective manner. - Commitment to excellence and teamwork with strong problem-solving skills. - Shows initiative, looks for changes or improvements in own work area and shows willingnes
