The Indigenous, French Language and Priority Populations Branch is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and inclusive leader as the Manager, Strategic Indigenous Health Programs Unit.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous partners to advance health outcomes through Indigenous-led programs while also regularly collaborating with other ministries.

To succeed in this role, you will:

- Coach and mentor a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional results in a changing environment.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of operational policy initiatives and programs.
- Provide expertise to senior executives on policy and program options, legislation, regulation, funding models, risks, and issues management strategies.
- Direct stakeholder and Indigenous partner relations, including federal, provincial, inter-provincial, and inter-ministerial consultations, engagement, and facilitation processes.
- Lead strategic data analysis to support evidence-based decision making and initiatives that enhance Indigenous data governance.
- Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.

**What you bring to the team**:
**Leadership Experience**:

- An inclusive leadership style, promoting a positive team environment and a culture valuing diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Experience leading strategic large-scale projects or initiatives, delivering results in a high-profile environment.
- Ability to coordinate strategic policy planning, including the review of policy directions and evaluation of evidence-based outcomes.
- Strong understanding of public sector organizations, such as the Ontario Public Service, with in-depth knowledge of HR policies and practices, including labour relations, organizational design, and succession planning.

**Technical Expertise**:

- Expertise in operational policy and program development theory and methods, with unique approaches to working with Indigenous partners and transfer payment recipients.
- Understanding of Cabinet legislative and political decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of ministry and government transfer payment recipient policies and processes.
- Strong understanding of factors and issues impacting and influencing the health of Indigenous communities and peoples.

**Political Acuity and Strategic Thinking**:

- Good judgement and political acuity to manage contentious and emerging issues, identify and minimize risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability in a changing and/or uncertain environment.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to provide sound advice to influence senior-level decision-makers.
