**Position Description**:
SickKids is embarking on strategic work to better support Indigenous patients, caregivers, and staff. The Indigenous Health Program Manager will co-develop and implement an organization-wide Indigenous Health Strategy. Reporting to the Executive Lead
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) the Indigenous Health Program Manager will work collaboratively with the SickKids EDI Office, Executive leadership team, and Indigenous Health Advisory Council.

Centering Indigenous knowledge and ways of life, the Indigenous Health Program Manager will develop an Indigenous Health strategy in close partnership with the SickKids Indigenous Health Advisory Council (IHAC) and SickKids leadership. The Indigenous Health Strategy development and oversight will include designing programs, managing program delivery, and overseeing the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of initiatives. The programs may include but are not limited to relationship-building, ceremonies, staff and patient education, events, space development and more.

As a part of the foundational strategic work to better support patients, caregivers, and staff, the Indigenous Health Manager will guide planning around Indigenous data governance frameworks in collaboration with SickKids Leadership.

**About this Position**

1. Provide leadership to the development and advancement of the SickKids Indigenous Health Strategy, with close collaboration with the Indigenous Health Advisory Council and SickKids Leadership.

2. Nurture relations and partnerships with Indigenous Health Advisory Council, Indigenous communities, SickKids leadership, and internal SickKids community.

3. With an Indigenous-centred lens, design and oversee Indigenous Health Strategy programs and clarify roles and responsibilities. Programs may include but are not limited to relationship-building, education, reconciliation, cultural safety, strategic partnerships, and quality of care for Indigenous patients and families.

4. Collaborate with the Indigenous Health Navigator & Patient Experience Specialist to understand concerns regarding Indigenous Cultural Safety and barriers to care. Advise key staff and support conversations aimed at ensuring adequate resolution of such concerns.

5. Guide alignment of Indigenous Health Strategy with other SickKids strategies and initiatives with invested parties including the Office for Patient and Family Experience, the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Office, the Project Horizon team and more.

6. With an Indigenous-centred lens, develop and oversee reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of strategy.

7. Guide the development of Indigenous data governance frameworks to support data initiatives related to SickKids workforce, patients, and caregivers.

**Overall Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead and collaborate with the Indigenous Health Advisory Council and SickKids leadership in the development, management, and evaluation of the SickKids Indigenous Health Strategy.
- Attend the hospital¿s Indigenous Health Advisory Council (IHAC) meetings. Seek counsel from and work in partnership with IHAC on the development of the Indigenous Health Strategy and program implementation.
- Build and nurture relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders and Knowledge Keepers. Build and nurture relationships within SickKids community.
- Identify existing initiatives focused on Indigenous health and wellbeing and align initiatives with the Indigenous Health Strategy
- As part of Indigenous Health Strategy, develop programs to support Indigenous cultural safety at SickKids, including but not limited to
