**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Business Development Manager will work with senior management and internal teams to identify, research, and implement potential growth opportunities to maximize revenue for Bioworld. **An extensive knowledge and understanding of the consumer and retail markets including Wal-Mart Canada, Food& Drug, and Department Store experience will be critical for this role.**

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Business Development Planning**
- Identify strategic opportunities for categories, products, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new revenue opportunities for the company
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide research and feedback on market and creative trends

**New Business Development**
- Meet potential clients and key decision makers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging a strong network
- Prospect for potential new clients and partners to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Set up meetings between customer management and Bioworld leadership
- Work with the internal team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
- Participate in pricing scenarios to maximize the return on investment
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
- Present all ideas and solutions that mirror that of the brand partners and retail partners

**Client Retention**
- Work with sales leadership to present new products and services to enhance existing relationships
- Engage with development team and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs

**Management and Research**
- Submit weekly/monthly progress reports
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
- Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light
- Institute and manage business development training and mentoring to internal sales staff
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Bioworld’s employees, products and capabilities
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose to enhance Bioworld’s performance

- Strong strategic thinking and an ability to solve problems creatively
- Ability to deliver high quality results on tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results driven, team oriented environment

**REQUIREMENTS**

Bachelor's degree from four-year university or college and a proven background in business development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Wal-Mart Canada, Department Store, Food & Drug, sales / relationship management experience of a minimum of 2 years required.

**BUSINESS HOURS**

Typical hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 9am - 5:00pm, some travel required for meetings / research. Remote work capability required currently due to Covid-19.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
