**Position: Experiential Learning Coordinator**

**Reports to: Director, STEAM Learning**

**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Director, STEAM Learning and working closely with other Experiential Learning team members, the Experiential Learning Coordinator is responsible for administrative and logístical support of key Science World program offerings, including but not limited to the Summer Camp and Scientists and Innovators in Schools programs.
- Summer Camp is a day camp program for elementary-age children that runs for eight weeks during the summer
- Scientists and Innovators in Schools (SIS) matches volunteer professionals with K-12 classes for in-person or online visits to inspire interest in STEAM

As a facility, Science World is generally open to the public seven days a week, with some extended evening hours in the summer months. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with front-facing and operational teams also working a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings. Hours of work and other related requirements will be scheduled according to business needs and this may include special events on evenings, weekends and holidays.

**Responsibilities**:
Summer Camp (May - August)
- Working with the Summer Camp lead to:

- Assist with camper and parent communication and issues
- Prepare materials such as parking passes, sign-in sheets
- Distribute and collects evaluation information, including some data entry
- Logistical support for weekly showcase events

Scientists and Innovators in schools (Sept - April)
- Working with the Experiential Learning Specialist, Community Science to:

- update and maintain volunteer records and paperwork
- Process expense claims, collect evaluation data and answer program inquiries
- Logistical support for Meet a Scientist events at Science World
- Inventory, purchase and maintain loaner equipment and other resources

Support of other programs may include working with program leads to:

- Enter and process statistics and evaluation data
- Inventory, purchase, and maintain program materials
- Assist with staff scheduling
- Logistical support of travel planning
- Logistical support of events.

Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of a High School graduation, a post-secondary education is preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated dependability, reliability and flexibility and strong problem-solving skills
- Must be an engaged, responsive and respectful team player with a demonstrated effectiveness working in a dynamic team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, computers and teleconferencing software (i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom), Microsoft Outlook
- Experience in administration and/or customer service is an asset
- A driver’s license is an asset
- Some evening and weekend work is required
- Must be able to lift at least 12kgs
